Since Antonio Conte’s tenure end transformation, and Ange Postecoglou has brought out a new system.
Very few Tottenham supporters would have said that last season’s Conte-ball was en uninspiring, supporters are willing to overlook it in pursuit of excellent outcomes.
As Tottenham’s performances declined, Conte was brought down by the mounting criticism that comes with losing.
In choosing Ange Postecoglou to succeed Conte, Spurs took a risk and went in a different route.
Despite the Australian’s success in Japan and Scotland, the Premier League presents a whole different challenge.
Even though they lost Harry Kane in the summer, Tottenham still has a decent chance of making it back to the Champions League and is now in fourth place in the Premier League.
This is mostly down to the fact that Tottenham has strengthened its roster with the additions of Brennan Johnson, Guglielmo Vicario, and Destiny Udogie, who rejoined the team after a loan spell with Udinese last summer.
Confusion surrounds James Maddison’s Tottenham signing
Finally, there’s defender Micky van de Ven, who may be considered the best addition overall.
After years of searching, Tottenham finally got their left-footed center back of the future when the Dutchman arrived from Wolfsburg in a transaction for up to £43 million.

It would be reasonable to assume that Tottenham supporters were a little enamoured with Van de Ven upon his arrival in North London.
Despite his promising first season in Germany, the former Volendam star was not among the league’s best defenders in the Bundesliga.
Tottenham made a big investment on Van de Ven because of his promise, and now he’s a superstar after quickly improving his game in the Premier League.
James Maddison, a playmaker for Tottenham who joined in the summer, has finally come clean about his ignorance of Van de Ven’s identity when he signed with Spurs.
Maddison, who said he should have been aware of the’special’ nature of Tottenham’s purchase of Van de Ven, lauded the club’s recruiting staff in an interview with Football London.
Following Sunday’s goal against Nottingham Forest, Maddison went on to say that Tottenham’s center back, Van de Ven, is “excellent” in training.
“He is a wonderful player, he is top quality and kudos to the recruiting staff since I had never heard of him before we signed him,” Maddison added. The irony is that I should have known about this guy in Europe; after all, he is that good. “An very talented athlete, a masterful trainer, a clever young man, and an exceptionally kind guy,” he said.
Dark things might happen with Micky van de Ven.
Even though he is just 22 years old, Van de Ven is a dangerous prospect for Premier League attackers.
The Tottenham defender is still very young, so he has plenty of time to grow into a top-tier player.
As we have seen, very few attackers can match Van de Ven’s speed and strength.
If he can perfect that combination and improve his game reading as he grows, Tottenham could be dealing with a superstar.
Already, the £43 million transaction seems like a steal, and if he grows into his potential, it might only get better from here.
